A Commercial Pilot License (CPL) Is the type of License which allows a pilot to receive payment for flying certain aircraft. The International Civil Aviation Organisation regulates the requirements for this license.
To be eligible for CPL, a candidate (according to ICAO) should:

Before starting up the training session for CPL, a candidate should obtain Class 1 medical certification.
The CPL aspirants must complete 200 Hours of flight Training on an Airplane, which includes different hours on Single Engine and Multi Engine Aircraft.
The Commercial Pilot License is divided into several categories, depending upon the type of aircraft that the pilot files, which may range from airplane, gliders, and helicopters. According to the aircraft types, the different certifications are given with ratings.
The sub-qualifications or ratings give precise idea about the privileges that a pilot can avail. The first type of rating determines which type of aircraft a pilot may fly. Single engine rated pilots can only fly single engine aircraft. Multi Engine Rated Pilots may fly multi engine aircraft. The night rating certification allows a pilot to fly at night. Instrument rating allows certified pilots to fly in bad weather conditions using only instruments. Type rated pilots are certified to fly certain types of larger aircraft such as the Boeing 737.
